The World Fantasy Convention takes place in Oakland this year from October 22-25, and I’ll be there! In addition to having copies of Manga’s First Century for sale in the dealers room, I’ll be moderating the following panel:

Prose to Panels: The Mechanics of Graphic Novel Adaptation

Graphic novels have soared in popularity among readers of all ages. This panel explores the craft of translating traditional prose into sequential art, and how to balance visual and textual storytelling, script effectively for artists, and craft multi-modal narratives that capture a new audience for the book.

I’ll also be at the traditional Mass Autographing Session in the Grand Ballroom on Friday night, from 8-10pm. As ever, if you get your copy of Manga’s First Century signed, I’ll give you a shiny gold Eisner Award winner sticker to put on the cover.
